They say it's your birthday…

Angel woke up at 6:46 AM…
because her sister was yelling that she had to go potty.
Anyway – she got to see Daddy before he left.
Daddy had balloons on her seat.
And he taught her how to hold up three fingers.

Receiving phones calls in the morning from Nan and Ba.
Sadly, most of our birthday festive-ness was postponed until after work hours.
Nanny joined us for Angel’s favorite: Blueberry pancakes and bacon.
Then we got to open some gifts…
Candyland in a cool box.

“Buzby and the Grumblebees!”

Two new dresses with matching dresses for Dolly.

My first Barbie – sent by Aunt Tina.

Posing on the deck in her new clothes from “O-See-Ah.”

Playing outside.
[Praise GOD there is no SNOW!]

CHEESE!

It took a number of tries to blow out the candles!

Tired, happy family.

Before bed they tried out the Elmo Bubble Bath.
You know you’re the third and fourth kids when you have
your first bubble baths at ages 3 and almost 5!

Undo

I can’t hear this song without singing along.
I just LOVE it.  I hope you do, too!

I’ve been here before
Now, here I am again
Standing at the door
Praying You’ll let me back in

To label me
A prodigal would be
Only scratching the surface
Of who I’ve been known to be

Turn me around, pick me up
Undo what I’ve become
Bring me back to the place
Of forgiveness and grace

I need You, I need Your help
I can’t do this myself
You’re the only one
Who can undo what I’ve become

I focused on the score
But I could never win
Trying to ignore
A life of hiding my sin

To label me
A hypocrite would be
Only scratching the surface
Of who I’ve been known to be

Turn me around, pick me up
Undo what I’ve become
Bring me back to the place
Of forgiveness and grace

I need You, I need Your help
I can’t do this myself
You’re the only one
Who can undo what I’ve become

Make every step lead me back to
The sovereign way that You

Turn me around, pick me up
Undo what I’ve become
Bring me back to the place
Of forgiveness and grace

I need You, I need Your help
I can’t do this myself

You’re the only one who can undo
You are the only one who can undo
You’re the only one who can undo
What I’ve become

Rush of Fools

Haircut for Angel

Poor Angel has such FINE hair.
FINE. Did I mention it is fine?
Her hair was so scraggly and I am at a loss.
I took her to Wal*mart for a trim.
The hairdresser said to me, “Do you want to keep her bangs?”
“Um, those aren’t bangs. That is where her hair ripped off from when I tried to have her wear ponies.”
Truth is, I am a bit scared about her hair. It was thicker and fuller 6 months ago than it is now. I am going to mention it to the pediatrician. Vitamins? Or is it related to the huge lump she has under her scalp that isn’t going away?

But she still has her curls!

Angel's Party

When Angel woke up this morning,

she announced, “I’m a party-girl.”

That is cute.

She was tickled to run down the steps and see
how Daddy had transformed the family room.
She inspected every seat.
About 11:00 AM she dressed for her party,
and posed with her cake.
That is Eloise and Alexander from the VeggieTales movie,

“The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything.”

And she posed with her Mama, too.

Four wonderful families were able to join us.

We are blessed with such lovely friends.

Some dress up clothes and dancing.

[Mama wasn’t all that prepared for indoor parties!]

We carried “eggs” through the house.

We opened lovely gifts.

Sang, “Happy Birthday.”

Finally found some candles that would
stay lit long enough to blow out.

Easter pictures

What was waiting downstairs

from Mommy and Daddy.

What was waiting upstairs!
The boys and Aunt Betty.

A WHALE!

HAPPY!

HAPPY!

HAPPY!

Photo op. at church.

The Easter Bunny doesn’t come to our house.

But the AUNTS AND UNCLES do!

17 eggs per each of six children.

You do the math.

That is a LOT of sugar!

Sweet Skeezix.
Happy Angel.

So handsome.

Oh they are so cute.

“Us, too! Us, too!”

Easter Egg Hunting Team – 2009

Max in back.
Beau, Bear, Angel, Lamb, Skeezix, Champ.

“Mom. It’s kind of freezing for pictures,”

offered Beau.

Eighteen for dinner. No pictures of that mess.

We decided to sing happy birthday

to Angel at the last minute.

I am SO glad we sang to our EASTER baby!

She will be three on Thursday.

Who is having more fun?

Aunt Betty, Aunt Cathy, Uncle Dave 1, Uncle Dave 2, and Max came to visit for the weekend!
After dinner we got busy coloring eggs. First time in a few years.
Not the fanciest ones, but we had a LOT of fun!

[Uncle Dave’s eyes lit up when he heard we were coloring eggs!]

Hmmm – more adults than children!

Are we related?

Working so hard!
