Here we are NY

This was the first time that John and I visited NY at the same time since we moved two years ago.

We were eager to visit PCC Sunday morning.

Bill met us at the door.

And we were happy to get lots of hugs and hellos.
I took precious few photos because I was doing lots of visiting.

We went back to Nan’s and changed and then picked up PIZZA AND WINGS and headed to Ba and Poppy’s to visit.

Billy Graham Museum

With my trip behind me and my health returning, Nan, Tabitha, Johanna, Katriel and I went to Charlotte, NC to visit the Billy Graham museum.  It was a wonderful place that exceeded my every expectatin.

The entire place was interactive.  It was set up so that you would moved between rooms every 6-7 minutes.  Each had its own focus.

This one was set up like a revival tent.

This talked about his media presence.

It highlighted his outreach to our elected officials.

And his opportunities to reach out across the nations.

He and Mrs. Ruth Graham are buried on the site.

It was a slightly stressful drive as Charlotte and I-85 are no joke.  But it was a trip wholly worth making!

Beauty and the Beast at BJU

This photo doesn’t do a thing to highlight the amazing performance we were treated to by BJU.  Over 2000 people were in the auditorium for their “educators performance” (the last night before opening night).

Marie and John will be going in a few nights.

Seneca Park Zoo–the tourist version

Sunday started with church.  Lots of hugs and catching up with friends.

We were some of the last to leave the building and we changed clothes for our zoo outing.  A quick stop for pizza.

The weather was extraordinarily warm for November.

Nan, Kelly and Barb came with us, and we met up with Nadine and Asher.
Nadine brought Ridge Donuts!

I know there were animals.  We saw them.  But mostly there was a lot of visiting.

Nan’s heading north

Last summer, shortly after we moved to SC, Nan joined us.  She’d sold her house, packed all her things, and struck out to a new adventure.

Meanwhile, the market just turned upside down.  It proved exceedingly difficult to find a house for her needs and budget in our area.  She found an apartment, but it was never quite home.  What is more, while the driving in our little corner of the world isn’t too bad, the traffic can get pretty crazy if you venture in other directions.   She made some sweet friends at church, but there were only a smattering of things to keep her busy, and the kids had so much going on, it was hard to hang out some of the time.

And in May, after losing out on yet another purchase offer, Nan made the decision to head back to NY.  She went up in June and was able to buy a townhouse in Webster.

And today, we packed up the cubes.  John, Marie, Tab, Nan, and I filled the two pods in just a few hours.  They will be picked up in a few days and make their trek north.  Nan will fly up on Tuesday and hang with Kelly until she closes on her place and her items arrive.  John will drive her car up on the weekend.
