Birds of prey know they are cool…

Our local Rec. Center offered some Tuesday evening classes on Predatory Birds of NY, this winter.  We signed up for a four-lecture series.  I promptly FORGOT to go to the first one… 😛

We made it to week #2 [hawks] on the 9th and week #3 [owls] tonight.  By WE I mean, the whole family made it to the first one and JB offered to stay home with Angel for tonight….  Any guesses why?

The fourth and last class is in two weeks.  Beau and I will be attending THAT one on our own.

He REALLY, REALLY gets into birds.  He has since he first saw Stuart Little 2 when he was 6.  We did a unit study on Birds of Prey then and he has remained fascinated.

He’s no savant, mind you.  He can’t identify scat on the ground, or tell who lives in our trees by the pellets left nearby… but he can remember which ones are which, and he actually rubs his hands together and claps a little clap when the demonstrator brings the birds out of their boxes.  Champ TRIES to like them, and Skeezix is just a mess.  She likes to see the bird for about 12 seconds and wants to see another one.  Never mind the slide show and the Q&A…
