Dayspring Academy is back in session – 2010!

The first day of school went well.

It was so nice to have the boys back where they belong at the table this morning, and to have a new space carved out for Skeezix. She dove into her math by skipping the directions and getting the first problem wrong. Colorful, but wrong. She was bouncing off her seat with enthusiasm and dropped her pencil at least 7 times before I just had to walk away. Once we got back on track, she was awesome. She was very excited to have spelling words this year.

The best part was sitting on the couch for Language/Grammar. While Champ’s lesson was VERY basic warm-up, Beau’s text jumped right into some serious MEAT. Welcome to fifth grade, sweetie!

After whining about the start of school for the past week, Champ was incredibly cheerful during the execution of it. And at lunch he said grace, “Dear Jesus. Thank you for a nice first day of school. Thank you for my mommy to be nice and to teach me at home. Amen.”

Amen!

HIS SOCCER

HIS Soccer started again. HIS stands for home instructed students.
Champ was excited to have the same coach that he had for baseball last spring.

Skeezix is a remarkably good athlete!
She is also a ham.
I did not get a photo of Beau. I don’t know why, either.
I spent the most time at his field.
His team’s color is goldenrod.

But THIS is why we LOVE HIS sports.

Check out the cheers.
Praise God!!!

Beau’s Seabreeze Birthday

I’m going to try to jump back in to blogging –
and how better than a birthday?

Beau turned 10 yesterday.  TEN!  I’ve been a
mom 10 WONDERFUL years.

We celebrated by an afternoon and evening at Seabreeze.
It was our 11th visit of the summer.

Nanny came with us and despite the incredible crowds
[it is NEVER that crowded!!] we had a wonderful time.

Beau got a new camera for his birthday.
It’s nicer than mine at this point.  😉

Beau wanted to decorate his own cake.
He quickly found how it is harder than it looks.
After much practice on napkins, he asked me to do the writing.
He then worked hard on the trim.
