She’s up before me these days as I struggle with sleep.
She has her math, spelling, and reading done before 7:00 AM.
And she’s taken to emptying the dishwasher everyday, not just the days she’s assigned.
I’m praying about a way to recognize her efforts, but my normal way would be to take her out for dinner just the two of us and that’s not an option right now.
Something will come to me.
She’s as helpful as Squanto ever was.

She is a Bethany. I had one of those once, but her father made the mistake of letting her get married and the girl I have left, though helpful, is not quite as excited about the tasks before her as her sister was. Treasure her, let her know how much all she does is appreciated, and she will make you proud. Yup, she's a keeper too.

PS. My Hannah is a keeper too. I don't know what I will do when she gets old enough to move away. I think I'll be lonesome, and besides. who will do the dishes after supper? 😉

Oh Martha – I know Marie will make an extraordinary wife and mother some day, but to think about days without her is a little too hard for me. She is such a ray of sunshine. Actually – imagining my house quieter than it is now saddens me. Sure it might be neater but the trade is not going to be worth it, is it?You made my day with your comments!
