Scattered Saturday…

”I Lego My Brain.”
We normally do Disney parks when we visit Florida and had decided against that this trip.  The tickets for Aquatica/SeaWorld/Busch Gardens were SO much less expensive than what we normally buy, so that encouraged my sister to look into visiting Universal Studio’s parks.  We also had decided before we left home that John and Tabitha would visit LegoLand while we were there.  So – Saturday, which was our “free” day, I offered to drive Kelly to Universal Studios, and then drive John and Tabitha to LegoLand.  I had it in my head that LegoLand was near Universal.  Well, if by near I meant “in the same state,” I was right.  But if by near I meant NEAR, I was wrong.
They ARE both in Florida.  But Universal Studios was about 25 minutes NORTH of our vacation house, and LegoLand was about 45 minutes SOUTH of our vacation house.
SO – Saturday morning, John, Tabitha, Katriel and I drove Kelly to Universal Studios.  We then turned the car ALL THE WAY AROUND and drove for just more than an hour to get Tab and John to LegoLand.  Katriel got a decent nap…
Thankfully, my mom had stayed at the house with Stewart, Nigel, Marie and Johanna.  The older three swam and Nan taught Johanna how to play UNO.  When Katriel and I finally got there (TWO AND HALF HOURS AFTER WE’D LEFT) I felt guilty about Johanna having not had a chance to swim and I geared both of us up for some swimming.  Which she wasn’t interested in after we got in.  Yup.
We ate SOMETHING for lunch (couldn’t tell you) and then Nan, Stewart, Nigel, Marie, Johanna, Katriel and I went to DownTown Disney.  About 20 minutes north of our house.  Zoom, Zoom.
We did find a few more license plates for our license plate game so that was cool.
First stop was… the bathroom.  Because, you know, IT ALWAYS IS…!
Then we visited the Lego Store.

And then the World of Disney store.  This is always a favorite.  What was really fun this time was that I now have a smart phone.  And when ever someone saw something they might like I could see what Amazon had to say about it.  Winking smile  This book was “only” $19.95 at World of Disney.  Amazon had it for $9.96.  I put it in my virtual shopping cart to check out the day we started our drive home.  I’m sure this is not how Bob Iger wants us to shop.

We played at “Once Upon a Toy.”  Between World of Disney and Once Upon a Toy I think I heard Johanna say no less than 42 times, “I wewwy need dis.”  Yes, speech therapy continues, and no, she didn’t get anything she wewwy needed from me.  (Her grandmother bought her a hair brush.)

Apparently Katriel wewwy needed a plush Minnie Mouse.  Nan was happy to help her out.

Meanwhile, an hour south of us, John and Tabitha had our other camera and recorded Daddy and Tabby’s Day of Fun.

Around 5 PM, we picked up Kelly from Universal Studios and then we all headed south to get John and Tabitha.  They’d all had good days and I “only” clocked in 5.5 hours of driving for our “nothing” day.  Truly, though, I’m so glad they had fun.
We capped the night off with some P.M. swimming.  I didn’t go in.  I’ve turned in to one of those women who need it to be 86 degrees in the air and 84 degrees in the water before I swim.  When did that happen to me?

And then there was ice cream.
