And I am clearly moss free, friends.
We’ve been Very Busy since school concluded. But it has been the good kind of busy. The progress-is-being-made and appointments-are-being-kept kind of busy. Mostly. I won’t digress any more than that.
In the midst of our madness I happily jumped into redecorating the big girls’ room. We went to Walmart on Mother’s Day and they each picked a color of paint for their bedroom. One chose Tinkerbell and the other chose Enchanted Purple. Together – they look delightful.
We scurried to prep the walls on a Friday before I headed out to work for the evening. Then Saturday morning Tab and I finished sanding and away we went.
Once I started painting indoors, Tabitha started painting outdoors. Like mother like daughter.
The walls were in very rough shape. When we purchased the house 8 years ago we had about a day and a half to slap paint onto the walls in this room. I had to paint over very rough walls and never did the trim wood. I spent far more time prepping this bedroom than I normally have to. That put my paint-application-starting-time much later than I had hoped, and I was only able to complete the purple and cut in on the green on Saturday.
Sunday after church the boys had a cast party for their movie, “The Land of Jacon,” so I started the green LATE… but continued until it was done.
Monday brought running around – Stewart took an entrance exam for dual enrollment college classes. That took some of the girls and I to a bunch of stores – including the craft store.
I am not crafty. But I am cheap frugal. I wanted something pretty for their light switch and outlet plates, but I didn’t want to spend $5+ on each one. Crafty people online told me I could glue glitter all over the plain ones and call it awesome.
Can you even stinking believe it???
Then Saturday morning we put it all together for a gorgeous bedroom.
I still have a giant flowering tree decal to go on that plain green wall, but the walls have to cure for three weeks.
Maybe I will actually remember to post it.
