New ties…

Some friends of ours unloaded 7 or 8 Disney ties on the boys.
The cheesy pictures are to show another dad just how groovy they clean up.

Tabitha’s Office

Since we finished the basement some 3(?) years ago, I’d be suggesting to the kids to use that area for a quiet place to do school.  None of them ever liked the idea.
Til Tab.
Tab embraced it on day three of school.  And by day 5 I’d come up with an idea.

She has her own space, complete with an orange stapler and box of Kleenex.

Peachy – Keen 2015

$8 worth of peaches.
I used up every jar in the house, and then some…

Nan asked the farmer for seconds and she and I had all this made by 3 P.M.
Praise the LORD!

First day of school 2015 – 2016

For the first time in FIVE years, I was not anxious about starting our homeschool year.
I’d like to claim that 10 years of homeschooling, I can see how faithful God is and I know that He will provide for our school.
But, I’m not sure that I can attribute it all to my spiritual growth.
I am not pregnant, nor do we have a small baby in the house.
We have a CD-ROM curriculum for Stewart’s math, thus freeing up a lot of time for me.
Stewart is also taking English at the community college, freeing up time for me.
We do not have any speech therapy this year.  And while she was such a great person to invite into our home, it did make my days choppier.
The oldest three are VERY independent, and Tab is getting there.
Katriel and Hanny are playing really well together these days.

And they all had REALLY great attitudes.
It was a VERY EXCELLENT start to the year.  Praise the LORD!

A Monster Among Us

The boys worked on new script over the winter/spring.  I was SUPPOSED to proofread it as we drove to Oregon, but I hadn’t not yet (and still have not) loaded Microsoft Office onto the laptop.  (Oops.)  I quickly read it after we got home and they went about with casting and costumes.

On August 20th they managed to do most of the filming, with a small bit left for the 22nd.

Within a week they had it edited.
And I must say, I am quite tickled by their production.

Yard things and outside fun

I don’t love rain, but I love rainbow weather.  First full one we’ve seen from our yard.  And a double one at that.

The kids and I were playing yard games and as I backed up under a tree, I saw Marie’s eyes grow large.  I needed no words to back out of there.

We continued our games in another spot in the yard.  Or multiple spots….

Fifteen…

We woke him up…IMG_3323
And then spent a quiet day at home.
Nan splurged and bought steaks all around, so I made him mashed potatoes and cole slaw to go with it.
Yum.

Truth be told, he was actually FAR more interested in getting part of the yard/woods prepped for the upcoming filming the boys have planned for their new movie.  We had to BEG him to come back in the house for gifts and dessert.  LOL.

My “baby” is sure growing up.  He’s taking a college class this fall, we went for a work permit, and he’s applied for a job.
I guess 15 in the new 16, or something like that.

He’s a great guy.  I’m excited to see the young man he grows into, and I am fervently praying he always follows the King of Kings.
