Improvising breakfast…

It was one of those “what do we eat TODAY” mornings.
So – I made biscuits with cinnamon and sugar on top, and we opened a can of apple pie filling (that I had in my cupboard for who-knows-what-reason) and Ta Da!

And this face.
This is the face of a little girl who was told she needed to get her bib on if she wanted to eat.
So she tried to get her bib on by herself.
But she couldn’t get her arms into the big properly.
So she sat down to sulk.

I helped her.  ♥

Swimmy days… in June!

We’ve had a GORGEOUS June.
I believe we swam more this June than any other year.

This is a mixture of memories.

Truly hoping July and August are as beautiful!

Darien Lake 2016

I’m always glad to get a day at Darien Lake with my family.  This year was no exception.
We had trouble finding a day with nice weather, full operating hours, and Daddy available, without mom or Stewart working.

We were there for rope drop.  (A/K/A opening.)

And despite only being low 70’s it was inexplicably comfortable enough for us to swim some.

The little girls rode these bumper cars more than a dozen times.

I got to ride Ride of Steel twice.  (Formerly known as Superman – the ride.)

We rode for hours and left around 8 P.M.  It was such a good day.

Last day of baseball–pizza party

Dad was out of town, so it meant Mama went to the game and enjoyed the pizza with the whole crew.  I was even able to see some of the games (although little Miss Three Year Old didn’t exactly settle in for inning after inning).

What is a mom to do when her 3 year old decides she no longer wants to wear the ears she brought with her?

Hanny had her own soda.  Yes, she did.

Hanny got to blow the horn to warn the teams that the end of the game was near.

A belated birthday party.

Poor Hanny.  We got home on vacation on May 23rd.  Her birthday was just a few days away.  As her birthday approached we suddenly realized she thought she was having friends show up on her real birthday.  Oh no!  NO!  Mama hadn’t taken even one step in the direction of having a party.  Between working serial Saturdays, and Daddy going to Germany over two weekends, it seemed unlikely she’d ever have a party!

Thankfully, siblings, Nanny’s, and aunts stepped in and Mama pulled off a small gathering only a few weeks (ahem) later.

Just another day in June

We’ve been starting every morning with school for Hanny.  Reading.  Clocks.  Math.  Writing.  In our experience taking time off those first few years only makes September that much harder.  It’s worth an hour a few mornings a week to keep at it.

Clocks aren’t easy, but she is working so hard at it.

Mid-afternoon Katriel asked me, “Can we ‘nuggle, Mama?”

Oh yes, baby, we can always make time to ‘nuggle.

As it was, I had time to ‘nuggle, because I didn’t have to make any dinner.  We used gift cards to eat dinner at Olive Garden for a pre-Father’s Day celebration before John went to Germany for work.

Home for presents and cake.
