Marie and Tabitha are giving archery a shot this year.
Get it?
Shot.
We live on schedules around here. Things just go better if we know what we are eating, when we are going places, etc., etc. But Mondays I go all wild and crazy and breakfast is a surprise. It depends on the day and what is going on. This day was a quiet one and I had time to mess around with pancakes.
Chocolate pancakes.
I don’t get all caught up with being healthy, donchaknow?
She is that silly…
I had a few minutes at the end of the day. We headed outside and I planned to look through the new Avon catalog. Then these little dolls asked me to push them on the swings. I put the catalog away for another time.
My big kids don’t ask me to push them on the swings any more. Too soon these ladies won’t be asking me anymore either.![]()
Marie mowed a bit and when she was done she brought some milkweed over to show them how to peel it and what was inside.
We switched pediatricians last spring. It was a long time coming and not entirely easy. But we did. Hanny met her for the first time a few weeks ago as we finally got around to her annual Well Child Check. This office has a cool device that they point at a child’s eyes, and tell them to look into it while the machine does some analyzing. The day Han looked into it, it reported that she had an astigmatism.
Three weeks later she was at the ophthalmologist’s office
picking out glasses. Changing doctors wasn’t easy, but we’ve been blessed a few times from having made the move.
I was super proud of her. She selected her glasses based on how they fit, not on bling, or style, or color. Ok. Ok. She did not want pink glasses… the point is still that she cared most about comfort.
We went two days later to pick them up.
I couldn’t have posed these photos if I’d wanted to.
This is her being so surprised at how she can see me through the mirror.
Isn’t she gorgeous???!
It started with an email from Red Lobster reminding me that it was Endless Shrimp season.
Then I remembered we had Darden gift cards.
And two daughters who LOVE shrimp.
And it was a plan…
Don’t worry – I didn’t actually ruin my appetite for shrimp with eating broccoli.
And I promise Marie didn’t eat her Brussel Sprouts.
This went on for hours…
Stick a fork in me; I’m done.
Please, Mom; no more shrimp.
