Uncle Mickey’s birthday

My dad was one of five sons born to my grandparents, Charles and Gertrude.
My dad, the second oldest, died almost 20 years ago.  The eldest, Charles II passed away a few years ago.  The youngest, Douglas, died 18 months ago.

It makes me very sad that there are just two of the siblings left.  But I was overjoyed to get to see both of them and celebrate at a joyous gathering for Uncle Mickey’s 70th birthday.

My uncle, Mike to his friends, battled cancer last year and is living pretty well.  It was good to see him not only reach a milestone, but to have him in party-mode.

These are my kids (Stewart’s grandchildren) with Mickey’s grandkids.

My cousins, Michael, (on left), and Andy, (on right), and my sister and I, joined in for this photo.  Andy’s twin girls are down in the front, and Michael’s daughter in in front of him and his son is next to Kelly.

And for this photo, my mom is over by Michael, and Uncle Kevin is on the far right.
