Our family has been praying for the governor since Christmastime. It was during a family dinner then that we were sharing our enormous hatred of many of the policies he has usher in: late term abortions, bail reform, vaccine laws. As we were lamenting his tenure as leader it suddenly dawned on me that HE NEEDS JESUS. So that night, even though it was probably the LAST thing on his mind, Stewart boldly lifted up the governor in prayer as we prayed for his soul.
Stewart went back to Houghton, but the rest of the family continued to lift up the governor night after night in family prayer time. We never dreamt the man would ever need THIS much prayer as he leads us through this pandemic.
Nan has been making face masks for a few weeks now. And now the law will mandate we wear them. At this point, I think it is theater. I’ve been sharing with friends how I don’t really believe this virus is turning out to be the risk we were told it was going to be. We will obey the law, but I don’t know what is going on.
•As the hospital remains empty.
•As people continue to wait for “elective surgeries” such as cataract removal, heart valve placement, vascular bypass, and more; and wait for “elective tests” such as endoscopies, and angiograms and mammograms and more.
•As we just keep languishing with closed business.
•As I wait in line to enter jam packed stores.
We trust God. He has allowed this.
Southern states are reopening. Maybe we will be able to thrive again, soon.
