American Heritage Girls costume party
The Butlers have never celebrated Halloween, but we never miss a chance to dress up in costumes, either.
Marie and Tab attended an AHG party tonight. ♥
Magnificent Maleficent
Tab’s homeschool co op had their own dress up day and Tab crafted a Maleficent costume.
AWANA party
Katriel was invited to dress up for the AWANA party tonight. She decided she would go as Princess Catherine (?) and we straightened her hair and put on make up. She work sneakers, however, because smart princesses know they should always be ready for gymnasium games!
True story – with CBS on Wednesday mornings and AHG on Thursdays nights (and I drive hither and yon every Thursday to boot), we had zero intentions of enrolling Katriel in AWANA. I mean, how busy does an 8 year old need to be? BUT – that first Wednesday night that I was prepping to take Johanna and Tab to youth group, I half-heartedly asked Katriel if she wanted to check AWANA out.
She hasn’t missed an evening since.
Nan’s South Carolina Birthday!
We got home from our weekend in NY late on Monday the 25th and woke to celebrate Nan’s first SC birthday.
We are so glad she is here and she is looking forward to getting settled into her new apartment in the upcoming week.
NY weekend
The hardest part of going back for a weekend is trying to fit a lot in.
We were at Hobby Lobby when it opened so Marie could say hi to friends there. After that, we picked Tabitha up at Ava’s, and the plan was then to pick up Johanna’s friend Libby and then get Asher. Oh – and I had to stop off at the jeweler in Brighton to pick up my wedding band. Tab was going to meet up with friends at Long Acres farms. Tab’s friend got sick. Libby got sick. Thankfully, Asher was feeling fine and we got to his house by 11AM. The Butler’s had been missing NY pizza so we made a quick stop at Marks!
It is a good deal chillier here than it was in Fountain Inn yesterday! Good thing I brought multiple coat options.
We had some fall fun. Fall hasn’t arrived in SC just yet.
After we dropped Asher back off later, we grabbed a fast dinner and then Marie and Tabitha went to a birthday party for Ellie in Henrietta. Johanna, Katriel and I watched a movie and went back to get the girls at 10PM.
Trip back to NY–October 2021…
We learned from our last trip to NY that the smartest move is to START EARLY. It is a very solid 13-14 hour drive if you factor in the necessary stops and at least one slow down. The best move is to be ON the road by 5AM. Thankfully, Stewart is more than willing to help.
We were outside Buffalo by 5PM dropping him off with Noelle’s family. Then we took Tab to meet up with Ava in Lima. Next stop was dropping Nigel off at Gunnar’s in Fairport, where Kelly met us to pick up Nan. Marie, Katriel, Johanna, and I then ate at Taco Bell and checked into our gorgeous hotel.
Five Mile ride
After soccer, Hanny and I went up to Simpsonville where she participated in a 5 mile ride for her Bicycling badge.
New hat
I love the little town we have moved to. It is a bit like Honeoye Falls, NY, but smaller. I treated myself to this hat during the Aunt Het Festival and went back to pick it up this week. ♥
