Harvest Party–walk through the Bible…

Storms kept it from being held outside like it was supposed to, but the event went on and was super immersive.  People from church each took a story from the Bible and brought it to life.  I should have taken more photos.

We were just about the last ones to visit.  The Hoyts were having dinner at our house and the time kept slipping away.

That worked out really well for the kids; they got pretty much all of the left over candy at the end.

Tab had a paper due so she responsibly stayed home while Marie, Johanna, Katriel, William and Victorious went.  Marie collected enough candy for the two of them, and they put it all on the floor and divvied it up.

Backyard camping

Johanna had some fun doing backyard camping in Mrs. Tammy’s yard with the rest of her squad.  It got very cold last night – less than 40F!

The rest of the girls went hiking in the morning, but I had to pick up Johanna for soccer.

Some fun with Mom

Ugh – orienting to the new job has eaten up a lot of time with my girls.

We had the day off co-op, so we rushed through school in the morning and went out to lunch and to the mall.

Flag Ceremony

Katriel was picked to call out the steps for the flag ceremony tonight.  She did a great job.

Johanna was one of the flag bearers.

New frontiers

Today, I headed in for in-person training at the new job.
I am not going to lie. I have very mixed feelings about this.

Firstly, they do not operate on 8-hour shifts.  They only use 12-hour shifts and that means I need to do night shifts in order to still be able to homeschool.  I can’t imagine what this will look like.

Secondly, I loved my year as a stay at home mom.  It only took 21 years to get there…

With that said, it’s an incredible hospital.  They jump through hoops to maintain acceptable nurse-to-patient ratios, and they have all the tools in place to make a nurse’s job easier.  It really seems fairytale like.

Meanwhile, back at home the girls have been looked after primarily by their older siblings.  But today, our dear neighbors, who also do school at home, had them bring their lunches and afternoon work over.

Saturday fun

I have sincerely loved not working Saturdays this past year+.
Today it meant I could accompany Katriel to AHG for a craft day.  They were making jump ropes out of old t-shirts to go in the Operation Christmas Child boxes.

Then there were games in the evening.

Fun fact about this game:
I owned this game for decades.  DECADES.  Then a few years ago I sent it off to Goodwill.  Years later, we bought one from Goodwill.

That’s how we do things.
