Nigel’s baptism, 2023

While I was driving home from NY and John was in Italy, and Stewart was in NC, Nigel was baptized.  Thankfully, friends were there to take photos and support him.  He was baptized in 2018 at 15 years old, but made this profession of faith today.

Honduras 2023

I don’t have a lot of info to go with the photos, but Nigel went to Honduras again with a missions team from church.

Horsing around….

One of Katriel’s friends from church invited her AWANA friends over for some fun at her farm.  They rode horses and did crafts and a devotion.

So grateful for the lovely friends the girls have made.

Let’s cook out, she said…

It will be fun, she said.

Oh – man –

it was supposed to be so easy.
Invite friends over.
Grill.

It was raining sideways.

John’s clothes poured water out over the floor.

But – our guests rolled with it.  And they are still speaking to us.
It was NOT the evening I anticipated… but we laughed so hard my sides hurt the next morning.

Marie’s birthday–one day late…

We are adjusting birthdays left and right this year.
Which just means we are busy again – YAY.

Marie couldn’t think of anything she wanted for dinner – then I suggested fish tacos and we had a life changing meal.

And then she requested a new kind of dessert.  We gave it multiple thumbs up.

She’s 19.  Hard to believe.

Our friends, the Richardsons, joined us for last minute dessert.
It is wonderful to have friends who don’t balk at our fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants world.

FIFBC VBS

It was our second year participating in VBS at church, and WOW it was a good time.
About two million kids attended.  Katriel was a camper, and Johanna was a preschool leader.  I was a student leader.

July 5th–Genesee Country Village and Museum

One of my favorite places in the world.
We were able to include a day trip to GCV&M while back in NY.

We hadn’t been there since before the lockdown, so it was very special to visit again.
Sadly, some of the buildings were without docents as they’d worked on the holiday (7/4) which was Tuesday and a day they’d normally have been off.  Nonetheless, it was a warm, wonderful outing.

Katriel was able to see her birthday buddy, Miss Pam.

We were happy to have Madeline visit with us.
