The boys went to a 90’s themed Christmas party.
They looked too good.
Our family gets to enjoy two Christmas Cabarets this year. The first was at Pittsford Community Church.
Nigel was asked to play a wise man.
The table servers put THIS between Johanna and Katriel.
Really.
I’m sure you can imagine their delight!
Marie couldn’t believe what they’d just put between the little girls. Look at Hanny’s face!
THAT is a COOKIE!
Finally Kelly had to protect them…
The whole performance was fabulous, but the best part was when the kings bowed to the King.
This is Asa. He is our Shepherd. (The Shepherd’s Treasure.)
Each day Asa finds his way from one spot in our house to another on a treasure hunt to know more about Jesus.
We met him, and I named him, on December 3rd.![]()

Hmmmm – where will he be the next day?
My friend, Darci, coordinated a number of December activities. Some of us went to her house on Monday to do Christmas crafts, and today I took the three older girls, and our friend, to another day of fun.
We had lunch at Sogo Hibachi. It was a ton of fun.
Then we headed over to Color Me Mine for some art work.
It was such a fun day!
As my kids prepared for CBS this morning I had to offer my oldest kids a little in the way of a pep talk. For reasons I can’t quite explain this puts them out of their comfort zone.
As they climbed out of the van to head in, it dawned on me this was very likely the only time all six of them would be on a stage together, ever. This is the first year Katriel was up there, and probably the last year Stewart would be. Frankly, it is a blessing they are even all there together this once.
So yeah.
A big Christmas blessing for this Mama.
Later the youngest three and I went to church to go out caroling.
Do you see that look on Katriel’s face?
Yes… that just about describes how it went, too.
It was a VERY exciting morning as Hanny skipped into the kitchen with her sweet little tooth in her hand. She’d woken up to feel something funny in her mouth. When she went to reach in, her tooth was all popped out!
We were BOTH so excited. There were hugs and smiles and Stewart was there to grab a picture with his phone for us.
Now – a sibling wondered out loud how Mom could be so excited having seen dozens of teeth come out over the last decade. That’s EASY.
This was Hanny’s first tooth! A big day for her. And their big days are my big days.
I love Mom life.
AND – it just so happened to happen on the day she turned 6½.
Thanksgiving…. you know – that thing where you cook for two days to eat for 15 minutes.
But I love the people we are eating with… so there’s that.
After dinner we did gift exchange.
And sang Happy Birthday to Aunt Betty.
My cousin, Cathy, and her husband, Dave, stayed with us the night, along with their pup, Comet.
