Living Last Supper

our church did the Living Last Supper for Good Friday.
Nigel was Simon the zealot.
Stewart and Kelly were in the choir (not pictured).

It was lovely.

Family picture day…

We had our annual family picture day.
We arrived on time, but had to wait a bit.
Every minute we waited was another minute for someone to get hurt, wrinkle, or stained.

I think they came out great!

The Story of Job

We’ve been studying Job at CBS since Christmas.
The PJT classes put on The Story of Job for the adults.
Tab played Job. Marie played Satan.  The boys (who hadn’t been to CBS in 7 weeks) played minions of Satan.  And my camera didn’t work.  AND then my PHONE camera stopped working.  I have exactly these photos and nothing more.  Sad smile

Art and snacks

Tab had a doctor’s appointment today.  To keep herself occupied while we waited I handed her a pen and had her draw on the disposable table cover.
WHY didn’t I think of this 15-some years ago???

We then stopped for some Shamrock Shakes and enjoyed them while we watched horses at Lollypop Farm.

Hair apparent

The director asked the boys to not get a hair cut until after the production.  Their head gear would stay on better if there was more bulk to their hair.

There was bulk all right.

9 A.M. Monday morning, Nan came over to get the boys and take them to the salon.

There had to be a pound of hair on the floor when she was done.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

It was nothing short of God’s great love for us that Stewart, Nigel, and Marie got to be part of this fantastic production.

Friday night John, Tabitha, and Johanna went to the show.
Saturday afternoon, after Tabitha, Johanna and Katriel had their last swim lesson, Tabitha and I went to see the production.  I then ran Tabitha over to the church where John was taking a class and I went back to get the performers for a pizza lunch at Cam’s.  It was excellent!  And yes, the kids DID wear their make-up to the restaurant!

Then on Sunday John, Tabitha, Johanna, and I went to see it again.  I was so sad that it was our final opportunity to see this amazing show.

Part of the beautiful supporting cast.  These girls logged in countless hours riding in the car back and forth to Finney.

Hanny wanted to meet the characters!

I was a planner/helper for the cast party.  It was such a great time.

The whole entire thing was a blessing from start to finish.  To God be the glory!

New guitar

I’m trying to get caught up on my blog.  I’m getting there piece by piece.  I need to stop and share this story, though.

Six to twelve months ago Nigel asked about switching over to guitar from piano.  We were okay with the idea and our piano teacher does both.  But there was that part about not having a guitar.  We HAD had two guitars at one point, but in our attempts to declutter over the years we had already gotten rid of them by the time Nigel expressed his interest.

John had done some occasional searching on Craigslist and Amazon, but we never had peace to just jump on anything.

The idea moved more to the front-burner in the last few weeks and I decided to pray about it.  There were far more pressing things going on, however, and it was never a major focus.

Then one Sunday at church, after Nigel was finished ushering for the day, Mr. Soanes (the head usher) asked Nigel out to his car.  It seems Mr. Soanes had asked Nigel in the past if he was interested in singing in the choir as Stewart does.  Nigel explained he’d like to play guitar.  Well, Mr. Soanes had a guitar at his house that no one was using.  And as I headed to the doors to exit the church that particular Sunday, my mouth dropped open as I saw Nigel walking back into the church with Mr. Soanes, with a guitar bag in his hand.

Really.

And here is Nigel with his first guitar lesson with Nate.

Do you remember the story about the drums?

Self-medication

Things are pretty busy in our neck of the woods, with opening night on the horizon.  After a few days of heavy running around, I took a few minutes to inject major comfort-calories into my system.  It worked deliciously.

Johanna’s Story Book

See – that gal on the left is Snow White.  She has leprosy.  And that gal on the right?  That is Aurora.  She is taking care of her.

‘Cause that’s how we roll.
