Fifteen…

We woke him up…IMG_3323
And then spent a quiet day at home.
Nan splurged and bought steaks all around, so I made him mashed potatoes and cole slaw to go with it.
Yum.

Truth be told, he was actually FAR more interested in getting part of the yard/woods prepped for the upcoming filming the boys have planned for their new movie.  We had to BEG him to come back in the house for gifts and dessert.  LOL.

My “baby” is sure growing up.  He’s taking a college class this fall, we went for a work permit, and he’s applied for a job.
I guess 15 in the new 16, or something like that.

He’s a great guy.  I’m excited to see the young man he grows into, and I am fervently praying he always follows the King of Kings.

VBS at Pines of Perinton 2015

Seven of the eight of us went to VBS a POP this week.  Johanna attended, and the other six of us served in different capacities.
Marie was on the music team with Mr. Skifstad and Mrs. McMillan.

John, Nigel, and I lead the “four year old class” (which morphed into a wide variety of ages).  Tabitha, as well as her friend, Sophia, worked along side us as youth helpers.

Stewart served on the Bible team as he had at the Pittsford VBS.

Daily attendance varied a great deal, but we enjoyed meeting the kids from POP and loved telling them about how much Jesus loves them

Funeral pictures?

Not really.  But it’s sadly becoming a tradition to take photos of the cousins when we gather for a funeral.
My Uncle Doug passed away this past week.
Two of Dinny’s sons; both my father’s daughters; both of Mickey’s sons; one of Kevin’s sons; and both of Dougie’s girls are in this picture.

My oldest four attended the memorial service and internment.

Buffalo Bills Training Camp

We always say we are going to go…. then never get there.
This year we got there.
But we HAD TO RIDE A SCHOOL BUS!!!!!!!!!!!
(We were dying.  It was unexpected and oh-so-funny!)

We played a little, walked around a little, and only got to watch them practice a little.  Some of the members of our group are, um, little.  I hope to take the more interested ones back.

Three of my kids won me the chances to enter to win this washer and dryer.

I then treated them to Wendy’s for lunch.

I ♥ this crew.

The joy of mud.

The (?) $5,000 pool in the back yard didn’t hold a candle to the fun that they found near the swing set.

Tabitha (and Hanny) dug a hole under the swing.
Tab filled it with water in an extremely clever way.

And happy.  (Really – she is happy.)

The boys opted to use a sprinkler under the trampoline – an activity Nigel unintentionally named “sprinkoline.”

Summer rocks.
This is the best summer I have had in a while.  Lots and lots of time to have fun with these guys.

Sister girls. Princess buddies. Special blessings.

Sometime I look at these two with wonder.  W.O.N.D.E.R.
For a very real season of my life I had zero expectations that I would ever have more than my oldest four children.
God is so good.  So, so good.
Now I enjoy these jewels.
They enjoy lunch at the pool.

And being princesses.

Oh – and this is so tragic….
Katriel told me that a bomb got Johanna.
(See – they, in fact, have older siblings!)  LOL

Quiddling and such…

We have had the chance to enjoy many game nights this summer.

Quiddler is a newer favorite.

And Apples to Apples is a long-time favorite.
