I am so grateful for Fountain Inn First Baptist Church. It seems astonishing that something we’ve only known for 14 months could feel so familiar and comfortable.
Storms kept it from being held outside like it was supposed to, but the event went on and was super immersive. People from church each took a story from the Bible and brought it to life. I should have taken more photos.
We were just about the last ones to visit. The Hoyts were having dinner at our house and the time kept slipping away.
That worked out really well for the kids; they got pretty much all of the left over candy at the end.
Tab had a paper due so she responsibly stayed home while Marie, Johanna, Katriel, William and Victorious went. Marie collected enough candy for the two of them, and they put it all on the floor and divvied it up.
As summer wound down, Johanna and Tabitha joined the choir. Meanwhile, our worship pastor was approaching retirement. One of his outgoing gifts to the congregation was to lead a magnificent night of worship. It was amazing.
Katriel and I had to duck out about 66% of the way through as she endured a nose bleed. We eventually got back in before the end.
At the conclusion, we took part in the most remarkable spread of food and desserts.
We will miss Pastor Stephen, but trust God will use Pastor Phil to lead us in worship.
We love our new church and getting to know more of our church family.
Early… VERY early… on Sunday the 18th, Nigel left with the team for their week in Honduras.
Late… VERY late… on Sunday the 25th, Nigel returned from his trip.
I don’t get much for photos, but he had an incredible trip. They built a Sunday School classroom next door to the church that the group had helped build a few years ago. They also made desks for a school that meets the needs of special needs students.
God is good. All the time.
The text came looking for eager helping hands.
We were delighted to respond.
A few hours later, we’d prepped about 100 of these!
These will be handed out to the kids who come to VBS!
She joined AWANA on a whim. I was dropping off the girls at youth group and gave her a sidelong glance, “Do you want to go to AWANA?” I asked doubtfully.
”What’s that?”
”Like Sunday School at night.”
She shrugged and put on her shoes.
And it’s been a blessing!
