Rehearsal Day–NY wedding.

The sun was bright even though the air was so crisp!
This would be a remarkable place to relax and visit if it were 25 degrees warmer.

It was a quiet morning of errands.

Marie worked for hours on a homework assignment.

Johanna, Katriel, Tabitha and I joined Noelle and her mom and friend in decorating the venue for the wedding.

It was cool, but dry for the rehearsal… and a lot of fun.

In the “can you believe” files:

•Our family couldn’t leave rental house bc our keys were in Stewart’s pocket – and he’d already left.

•Groomsman let out of police academy training 90 minutes late therefore missed rehearsal

•Pastor couldn’t come to rehearsal bc wife stranded in Albany and he has little kids

•Photographer dropped ring between boards of deck requiring dismantling of deck to retrieve

•Bridesmaid locked keys in car

HERE WE GO! NY for a wedding

It’s finally here.
Wedding weekend.

We left the house very early.

And got to NY VERY late.
Time seemed to turn backward as we drove.  And we’d forgotten just how cold it would be in NY when we got there.  But we liked the rental house a LOT.  And Stewart joined us.  He and Joseph had had a miserable drive up the night before.  It took them like 18 hours to go what should have been 12.

I missed a room in my photo collecting.

The kids tried to watch football, but the Wi-Fi was spotty.

Festivities start tomorrow!

July 5th–Genesee Country Village and Museum

One of my favorite places in the world.
We were able to include a day trip to GCV&M while back in NY.

We hadn’t been there since before the lockdown, so it was very special to visit again.
Sadly, some of the buildings were without docents as they’d worked on the holiday (7/4) which was Tuesday and a day they’d normally have been off.  Nonetheless, it was a warm, wonderful outing.

Katriel was able to see her birthday buddy, Miss Pam.

We were happy to have Madeline visit with us.

Seabreeze 2023!

I hoped we’d be back some time, and this weeklong trip in July offered a chance for us to head back to my favorite place.

Getting to these banners and traffic circles stirred up all the joy!

And the beautiful Lake Ontario in the background.

IMG_2307

We started in the waterpark.

The weather was outstanding!

IMG_2377

IMG_2386

And the crowds were so so low that we rode everything we wanted to ride multiple times with very little waits!

IMG_2394

We thought we’d stay til closing, but we got to do everything and then some.

IMG_2396

If today was my last visit ever there (Oh! I hope not!) then at least it was an amazing day.

Driving and driving in NY

I couldn’t resist this photos at Nan’s mirror.

IMG_2270

We drove kids, um, places, and then I went to see my friend, Karrie, whom I haven’t seen in over a year.

In that time, she had her sweet baby girl.  Who I thought was looking at the phone when I took this.

IMG_2277

It was a major treat to catch up with her and her sweet Hailey and CJ.

IMG_2280

And I finally got to meet Nico, who looks like a super angry cat, but who is, in fact, a sweetheart.

IMG_2287

I then drove around and around picking up kids and dropping them off until dinner time.

IMG_2270

Here we are NY

This was the first time that John and I visited NY at the same time since we moved two years ago.

We were eager to visit PCC Sunday morning.

IMG_2237

Bill met us at the door.

IMG_2239

And we were happy to get lots of hugs and hellos.
I took precious few photos because I was doing lots of visiting.

IMG_2241

We went back to Nan’s and changed and then picked up PIZZA AND WINGS and headed to Ba and Poppy’s to visit.

Seneca Park Zoo–the tourist version

Sunday started with church.  Lots of hugs and catching up with friends.

We were some of the last to leave the building and we changed clothes for our zoo outing.  A quick stop for pizza.

The weather was extraordinarily warm for November.

Nan, Kelly and Barb came with us, and we met up with Nadine and Asher.
Nadine brought Ridge Donuts!

IMG_7495

I know there were animals.  We saw them.  But mostly there was a lot of visiting.
