Tab has been enjoying swing dancing over the last month. It meets Tuesday nights from 8PM-11PM, but I’m willing to hang in the parking lot til ten.
Some friends from co-op attend, and she has met a lot of new people through her friends.
She loves to dance, and was especially tickled when her friend thought he and she could master this one move…

She arrived on Easter evening all those years ago. And her birthday fell on a Sunday again this year, too. We’d had a very busy weekend and she declined a birthday meal.
Gifts were sparse, but joy inducing.
Though she didn’t request any special meal, we all decided she should have pizza for an early dinner. Her sweet friend Melody arrived in time for some molten lava cake.
After that, Tab and Mel headed off for a double dose of youth groups.
That’s a thing around here, to be honest. A lot of kids seem to visit more than one fellowship. Since they often have friends at other congregations, it seems to work.
She likes her birthday to be low-key… but this was a little lower-key than I anticipated.
I love all my kids from the top of my head to the soles of my feet, but let me tell you, SEVENTEEN HAD BETTER BE A BETTER YEAR THAN SIXTEEN WAS!!!! She just needs to catch a break somewhere.
I love my girl so much.
I dropped her off at the Winter Formal, which had a medieval theme.

The line dancing is my favorite to watch, and I did make it back before pick up to catch some of the coolest young people in the world doing the paired line dancing (think square dancing, but along a line.)

At one point, the smoke machines set off the fire alarms… and I am sure this fire fighter is still talking about this call.

As my hair appointment drew closer, and I realized I wasn’t going to need a hair cut (I have to make the appointments months in advance because she does it solo out of her home and has family-focused hours) I offered the appointment to Tab.
She took me up on it, and got herself some spectacular highlights and a curl-friendly cut. I love it.
Meanwhile, Friday evening, Marie and Johanna attended the Volunteer Dinner (the dinner to recognize volunteers) at church. As a new choir member, Johanna was included!
Tab did better this time than last – love seeing improvement.

Tab was able to catch up with her AHG squad today, for a rare non-Thursday activity that fit her schedule. They packed bags for inmates for Christmas. They met up at Tropical Grille for the assembly.
Ironically, my friend Anna works for the local Baptist Association that collects them before they head downstate for distribution. These girls packed up as many as some entire churches are able to assemble.
Tab had her first archery tournament this morning. Her “flight time” was 8AM. And yes, we were late.
Hours later, we picked up her sweet friend Carter and they went to Velos Homecoming.

Today was the last day of co op for the semester. Tab has been taking a singing class third period and today at the showcase they sang “Dust in the Wind.” It was beautiful. So is she.
