Another fun Daddy day…

What is great about the days before the pool is open is that the sprinkler seems like so much fun.  🙂

John got the sprinkler out for the girls while Stewart, Katriel and I were at the homeschool convention.

I think this was Johanna’s first time in the sprinkler.

I remember other fun sprinkler days before she was born…

And who can forget Nan on the slip and slide!

CURLS!

Tabitha has naturally curly hair.  But we give it a behavior-boost before pictures.  She and I went to JCP Saturday for her annual birthday photos.

We included little sister in the beauty prep.
This would be an even better blog post if I also had after pictures, huh?

Nope.

Empty Nest

While I am pretty sure it will be a long time until I experience an empty nest of my own (Thank you, Jesus, for these great kids) my girls were excited about the empty nest they found under the deck.

Ahem – the story goes… that Tabitha SAW it on Easter Sunday, but didn’t touch it.  So when Marie found it on Thursday it wasn’t REALLY her discovery…

Or something like that.

“Who Can He Be?” 2013

Once again this year our church did a performance depicting Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.

Last year the big four and I were in it.

Because of my expecting and delivering Katriel, it was not possible for me to be part of the production this year.  Instead, John donned costumes and hit the stage.  He first played a townsfolk, then a Roman Solider.

My sister, Kelly, was also part of the production.

He was much more intimidating before he held the newborn.  😉

Or the smiley almost-3-year-old.

Johanna took to the stage, too.  Albeit, before the production started.  😉
What can I say?  It runs in the family?

She has a role picked out for the future…?

Sitting still

John has often said that one great thing about having a baby is you get more rest.  People often balk, “More rest!?”  And go on to cite the night time wakings and rockings.  But as John points out – babies like to be held.  They like to eat, like to sleep, and like to be held.  And it is hard to do a lot when you are holding…  so – we rest.
I think God meant it that way, really.

But – as the older kids have gotten bigger, he and I seem to have fewer opportunities to hold and rest…  There is always someone else interested in the holding.

What a lucky Ducky!

So much love…

Hugs from Auntie Emily and meeting Anna.  Katriel plans to catch up with her within the year.  😉

Some time with Nigel.  He thinks I am pretty small.

Fully Dressed

When I was six, or eight, or ten, I could not name the elements to the Full Armor of God.  Truth be told, I didn’t know them until about age 33.  Sometimes I am so envious of my kids.  My prayer is that while it is just being absorbed now, that later on it will be valued by them.

We did this activity once before almost five years ago.As a matter of fact, it was included in my first blog post.

I suspect I will have the opportunity to supervise the same project at least one more time, in another 5 or so years, with Johanna and Ducky.  Stewart will be 17 then.

I am so blessed.
