Wouldn’t you know, our American Heritage Girls Operation Christmas Child box backing party AND Tab’s CCHA Fall Project Night fell on the same date.
Daddy went with the other girls and I went with Tab.
Tab’s drama class shared a short play about the Ballerina of Auschwitz.
She now has a 6 week break from co-op!
The Butlers have never celebrated Halloween, but we never miss a chance to dress up in costumes, either.
Marie and Tab attended an AHG party tonight. ♥
Tab’s homeschool co op had their own dress up day and Tab crafted a Maleficent costume.
When we realized we would close on the house on 7/29, but that our belongings wouldn’t come until 8/5, we cried decided that we would use the time to paint a few rooms.
Ahead of closing, Marie and Tabitha picked out a paint for their bedroom.
So early in the day on 7/30, Stewart and I headed over to the new house. The plan was he would get the WiFi set up for me so that we could all be entertained a little as we worked.
We didn’t figure it out for days….
But we did figure out something else…
Painting was going to take longer than I thought.
First – I had some repairing to do.
Then I realized that even with the safe I brought to stand on, I was not going to be anywhere near tall enough to do the edging. We had not realized just how high the ceilings were.
I took Stewart back to the rental, grabbed Tab and she and I went to the Hoyt’s to borrow their ladder. Going up and down the ladder, moving it, and going up and down again slowed me down a lot.
Thankfully, I had help.
We also decided that day that I would call Jesus, the painter, to get some quotes…
I went to a movie theater! A real, live, in person event.
It was remarkable.
And the movie was great, too.
LET US NEVER TAKE NORMAL FOR GRANTED!
After the soccer season ends, the plan is always to “get together soon.”
But it doesn’t happen enough.
How special when Lauren and Jocelyn reached out to hang with the girls.
The plan to swim was thwarted by the weather. Instead they went to FunHouse in Henrietta, and made a quick stop at Lollipop Farm.
As if the soccer coordinators didn’t already rate as some of the coolest people we’ve ever met, they offered up their barn as a prom setting for the boys’ and girls’ varsity teams.
Tab’s friend Lauren also attended.
I’m frustrated I can’t find the rest of the photos.
It was a gorgeous night. The girls changed out of their dresses after a few hours and there was a big bonfire.
Since her slumber party got bumped last year (grrrr) we had a wonderful make up party this year!
The girls made tie-dye hoodies.
I think they did an amazing job!
