Living Inside Out

Okay – the pictures stink… but the performance did not.
My boys sang for Webster Bible Church’s Music Makers musical, “Living Inside Out,” on Sunday evening.
The story took place in a gym class [hence the gym clothes]. It was about a boy who was puffed up with pride and the gym teacher, school nurse and his classmates taught him about how living for the LORD is better than living for yourself.
They practiced weekly for two months, with a few extra rehersals thrown in.
They loved it.
We loved it.
It was such a blessing.
Both boys are hoping it will fit into our schedule next year.
Beau is even hoping for a speaking role next time around.

I wish I could post the video… but I’d have to first figure out how to download it from the little recorder. 😉

Garden Girl

Skeezix is a really good helper to her Daddy in his gardening effort.
She doesn’t fear work or dirt, and she participates with joy and enthusiasm.

Daddy and I are so blessed watch her work.

Skeezix then wanted to take a photo of Mama and Angel.

Then she wanted Angel to take a photo of Skeezix and Mama.

Oops.

Um…

Wasn’t happening.

So she told MAMA to take the photo and she would pretend to be hugging me.
Skeezix clearly rocks.

Summertime Sun… Summertime Fun…

Can you tell by the gear?
My [ratty, old] visor.
My geeky [but epi-pen-carrying] fanny pack.
[Don’t bother to tease me; I don’t like to be separated from the epi-pen!]
And… TA DA!!!

Our 2009 Season Passes, complete with one for Daddy and one for Angel this year!

OUR FIRST TRIP TO SEABREEZE FOR 2009!

The gentlemen headed to the Jack Rabbit. The lady-girls went to the Bear Trax.
It was a big day for Champ and Angel who both hit milestones for what they could ride on.
Champ got to try a LOT of new rides as he was the proud bearer of a “48 inches or taller,” band.
Angel got to ride a few new things and she got an arm bracelet for the first time.
She was free last year. That was actually more fun for me! 😉

I lost count how many times the girls rode this today.

I am trying the, “If I stare straight ahead, maybe I won’t vomit,” trick.

Nausea factor = 10 out of 10!

I so do not like this ride.
The things we do for our children.
Still, I am grateful that the hardest thing I had to do today was ride a Tilt-o-Whirl.

Flying high with Daddy.

Notice who isn’t wet?
MAMA!

Enlarge this next one and look at Angel’s face!
She did go on it again, but she didn’t really look like she wanted to.
After her second trip, a few hours later, she cried.
Skeezix ended up on this one four or five times today.

I love that Beau is still happy to ride these rides with his siblings.
No one has ever told him he shouldn’t enjoy it.
I pray it stays that way this summer.

Escorting his sister around the track.

A turtle-full.

Angel’s first trip on the Spring.
It is a favorite of her siblings.

And the verdict is…

Ten thumbs up!

Champ survived his first trip on the Whirlwind.
Mama loves this ride!

He’s so brave.
He’s a Whirlwind Vet, don’t you know? 😉

Hmmmm – what is that pose, Skeezix???

Beau’s first solo trip on the bumper cars.
Whoa. It was harsh.

After spending a bunch of time going in circles, backward, in the corner, Champ got it all figured out.

One visit down, 14 to go!

As an aside, today marked JB’s and my 12 wedding anniversary. Twelve years ago right now we were dancing and visiting with our family and friends, and we were still, very much grieving my father’s April 21st death. If you had told me I’d be celebrating my 12 anniversary with four precious children at Seabreeze I don’t think I could have possibly processed it. Today, it felt perfect.

Oh how I love my husband and my life.
I don’t think He spends much time reading blogs; He’s reading our hearts and refining some of us like crazy! But just the same, Thank you, Sweet Jesus, for the walk I am on. Thank you for this husband, thank you for these children and thank you for this crazy-blessed life of mine!

This first photo says it all.

Stick a fork in me; I’m done.

This is why we homeschool on

New Year’s Eve and

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Skeezix got new shoes!

I found them on EBay.

They came from Israel!

She was beside herself with delight!

And this photo goes in the category, “We will take a photo of anything now that we are digital.” “Mom! I am tater tot king.” His brother gave him all his tater tots. He ate them all.

This week

I am working two twelve-hour shifts, Monday and Tuesday. JB is doing school [or what’s left of it.]

I am looking forward to Wednesday to be back where I belong!

Gagigaygers

Angel called out last night at 4 AM, and I went to her.

“Da gagigaygers come in my beboom and keep wakin’ me up,” she says sobbing. I asked her to repeat and she does through the tears. I ask again to repeat, and, I got all of it except gagigaygers.

I said, “What keeps coming in your room and waking you up?”

“Gagigaygers,” she says sobbing.

“Say that again honey.”

“Gagigaygers,” still more tears.

“Alligators?”

“Yay-yus,” with a big pouty lip.

“Oh baby, there are no alligators in your room,” I said warmly.

“Okay,” tears stop, flops down on bed.

Normally Daddy answers all the night-time children calls, but I did for some reason last night. I am so glad I didn’t miss that one! I paid for it by remaining wide awake for two more hours.[That is why Daddy usually jumps right up! It seems if my feet hit the floor for any reason, I am awake for hours.]

Child-led Worship at CBS

The kids led worship time today for CBS.
Last week’s class was supposed to be the last, but it was
cancelled due to a tragedy in Canandaigua last Tuesday.

So the wonderful CBS leaders made sacrifices to

co-ordinate “Sharing Day,” with a fantastic
“Last Day,” for the kids.

I was Blessed and Blessed and Blessed again.

A big treat was that all four kids sang together.

I wasn’t expecting Beau to sing with the younger groups.

It makes this Mama beam to see them all.

Beau went to town with the hand motions and lyrics.

Champ seemed a little off, which isn’t like him. 😦

Angel just stood there and looked cute.

You can guess from the following pictures how Skeezix handled the whole thing.

Angel and her friend Bear.

Hmmmm – whose kid is that anyway?
[Where does she learn those moves?]

She was standing next to her friend LaMB.

Vote For Garrsion!

A young man in our homeschool group is a finalist in the “By Kids for Kids” invent a game contest.

He submitted a design for a computer game and was picked along with 4 other finalists.

He has the chance to win a $10,000 savings bond and have his game made.

And a trip to California is thrown in too!

Please help him out — 20% of his chance to win comes from people voting.

So, if you could go to this website and learn more about his game, and vote (once per day per computer) for him we would be ecstatic!

I think it is cool and hope you think the same.
