Nan took the oldest four to pick berries.  I took the youngest two to buy sugar and certo.

Five hours from bush to table.  31 pints.

$116 for 30.5 pints.
$3.80 per pint.

Sigh – then Walmart visit revealed this. 
$3.04 per pint.  Same ingredients.

I either need to find somewhere cheaper to get berries, or just add it to my weekly shopping list…

  1. Sympathetic sigh.And epiphany: if you hadn't gone to Wal-Mart, think how much better you would have felt about your jam! And I think you should buy one pint of Smuckers and have a blind taste test.
