This one does.
I found the recipe on America’s Test Kitchen website. it was worth the rigmarole to register, etc., to access it.
It called for nuts but I used coconut on the outside.
It was exceptional!
Chase Farms
Sometimes you miss the forest for the trees.
We drive by a farm market almost every time we go out, yet I had never taken Johanna. And it had been a few years for the bigger girls.
Each time we drive by now Johanna exclaims, “The pumpkin patch, Mawm! The PUMPKIN PATCH!”
Wait until she realizes we can pick berries there, as well.

Marie had a lot more to memorize in order to earn her t-shirt, handbook, and bag. We were pretty pleased for her. 🙂
Despite her smile, she was pleased as well. ♥

Every Butler baby has spent countless hours on Daddy’s lap at the dinner table. Or in this case, the ice cream table.
She knew she was missing something special.

Science Geeks?
We’ve had a ton of science experiments going on around here, as well as science projects.
Nigel made some animal tracks one week.
And experimented with chocolate and corn syrup to see how an anteater’s tongue works.
Stewart had to develop his own experiment using water, salt, sugar, corn syrup. He decided to measure how eggs float (or sink) as each is used as a solute. He figured out control vs. variable.
He also has thus far build a glider, a steam boat and a racer to conduct experiments.
I don’t think either of them plans to make a career out of this stuff… but it is more interesting than other years, as you can see. 🙂
AWANA crazy hair night
The girls are all doing AWANA this year at a nearby church. We are so excited to be part of this excellent paraministry. We are particularly excited that Johanna can be part of it. She is a Cubbie, Tabitha is a SPARKS, and Marie is a TnT. They got to do a crazy hair night and both Johanna and Tabitha have earned their bags and gear. Marie was a bit confused on what her objective was the first two weeks, but I think we have that all cleared up. She should get her gear soon.
Crazy hair night was a TON of fun.
