Precious Champ

Champ had his first piano lesson today.

He was so excited. He’s wanted to start for a few months, but we were working on scheduling, and frankly, I wanted to see if he really was interested, long term.

After he finished his lesson, he went to his room, got out his piggy bank and came back with $1 for Janelle, as a thank you.

Janelle thanked him and called him back a minute later.

She asked him if he would make her a card like the one he made Daddy for his birthday [he’d shown it to her] and she would like to buy it for $1.

You can’t make this stuff up, people. He really is that cute. And Janelle really is that awesome!

Good Moods are GREAT!

How silly a title is that, huh?

I am in a good [albeit tired] mood today. I was yesterday, too.

♦ I can see my rhubarb growing leaves.

♦ Angel and JB’s party on Sunday [30+ for taco bar… yum!] went so well. We have fantastic family, and friends who might as well BE family to share our special days with.

♦ Angel got a bunch of new toys. Not that we NEED more toys, mind you. BUT … new toys mean highly entertained 3 and 4 year old daughters while mom and boys are doing school.

♦ Speaking of school… we have only 17 days left. Yes, you read that right!!! YA-HOO. Of course we will still do school through the summer to keep up on language and math. But we have completed 163 days of school already, so we only have 17 left!
♦ Today we are delivering food to one of my favorite local ministries, FLOWER CITY WORK CAMP. If you are not familiar with this amazing outreach, click the words. It will bring a huge smile to your face, no doubt.
♦ The forecast looks good for Friday, when we have a play date planned.

♦ Friday is also the first day of HiS Baseball [HiS = Home Instructed Students.] This year Skeezix gets to play. She and Champ are on the same team, and JB is their coach. Beau starts coach-pitch.

• The forecast for this weekend is phenomenal. I can’t believe I have to work and miss SEVENTY-EIGHT degrees on Saturday. That’s my kind of weather, people!

See the “bow” we taped on Dolly’s head?

What is your ice cream personality?

How do you feel about ice cream?

Are you such a fan of ice cream

that any brand or flavor will do?

Are you so ambivalent about it

that any brand or flavor will do?

Do you like it, but only certain types,

or certain flavors, or in certain situations?

Are you allergic to milk?

Or is there another way to describe you?

"At Yer Service"

Thursdays are “Big Clean Up Day”

at the Academy.

One of Beau’s jobs is to clean

all the bathrooms.

I caught him in the act yesterday.

Do you like his outfit?

I don’t require that he wears that.

But I do find myself pleased

with his level of professionalism.

They say it's your birthday…

Angel woke up at 6:46 AM…
because her sister was yelling that she had to go potty.
Anyway – she got to see Daddy before he left.
Daddy had balloons on her seat.
And he taught her how to hold up three fingers.

Receiving phones calls in the morning from Nan and Ba.
Sadly, most of our birthday festive-ness was postponed until after work hours.
Nanny joined us for Angel’s favorite: Blueberry pancakes and bacon.
Then we got to open some gifts…
Candyland in a cool box.

“Buzby and the Grumblebees!”

Two new dresses with matching dresses for Dolly.

1-2-3 Duck Game by Cranium

Feed the Kitty Game
as recommended by Flssgrl

My first Barbie – sent by Aunt Tina.

Posing on the deck in her new clothes from “O-See-Ah.”

Playing outside.
[Praise GOD there is no SNOW!]

CHEESE!

It took a number of tries to blow out the candles!

Tired, happy family.

Before bed they tried out the Elmo Bubble Bath.
You know you’re the third and fourth kids when you have
your first bubble baths at ages 3 and almost 5!

Undo

I can’t hear this song without singing along.
I just LOVE it.  I hope you do, too!

I’ve been here before
Now, here I am again
Standing at the door
Praying You’ll let me back in

To label me
A prodigal would be
Only scratching the surface
Of who I’ve been known to be

Turn me around, pick me up
Undo what I’ve become
Bring me back to the place
Of forgiveness and grace

I need You, I need Your help
I can’t do this myself
You’re the only one
Who can undo what I’ve become

I focused on the score
But I could never win
Trying to ignore
A life of hiding my sin

To label me
A hypocrite would be
Only scratching the surface
Of who I’ve been known to be

Turn me around, pick me up
Undo what I’ve become
Bring me back to the place
Of forgiveness and grace

I need You, I need Your help
I can’t do this myself
You’re the only one
Who can undo what I’ve become

Make every step lead me back to
The sovereign way that You

Turn me around, pick me up
Undo what I’ve become
Bring me back to the place
Of forgiveness and grace

I need You, I need Your help
I can’t do this myself

You’re the only one who can undo
You are the only one who can undo
You’re the only one who can undo
What I’ve become

Haircut for Angel

Poor Angel has such FINE hair.
FINE. Did I mention it is fine?
Her hair was so scraggly and I am at a loss.
I took her to Wal*mart for a trim.
The hairdresser said to me, “Do you want to keep her bangs?”
“Um, those aren’t bangs. That is where her hair ripped off from when I tried to have her wear ponies.”
Truth is, I am a bit scared about her hair. It was thicker and fuller 6 months ago than it is now. I am going to mention it to the pediatrician. Vitamins? Or is it related to the huge lump she has under her scalp that isn’t going away?

But she still has her curls!
